Camp Schedule Update!

Camp Candid Carrie will commence again on August 25!

In the meanwhile, I had so much fun with One Week In Wisconsin and I heard from so many Wisconsin bloggers that I would like to add a side bar link on Camp Candid Carrie with my new (and a few not so new) Wisconsin friends!

Are you a Wisconsin blogger? Send me an e-mail at campcandidcarrie at gmail dot com and I will add a permanent link to your site in my side bar. No other action is required! Just an opportunity for me to keep all my homies in one nice stack!

Thanks!

One Weekend In Wisconsin, Updated

Hi and thank you for joining us at Camp Candid Carrie's One Weekend In Wisconsin! Today we are traveling to several fun blogs. The writers are located here in Wisconsin or have fabulous memories they would like to share about Badger Territory!

Our Life With Three Daughters has just joined us today with a walk through Wisconsin's Winter Wonderland. If it is hot and steamy in your neck of the woods, take a stroll with us! **Added 08/10/2008

DeForest Wisconsin's: A Summer with the Doucette's Saturday features her own Olympic moments! And if you like to read, well then you had better come back on Sunday too because she promises something special! ,

Mommy's Adventures hails from Michigan but remembers traveling through Wisconsin as a child, remember Big Boy? Plus, she shares just a glimpse into her current life.

You know her as MaMaHut from Colorado, today I want you to meet MaMaHut who spent some time in Wisconsin. In her twenties. As a drywaller. Discovering beer gardens.

Out of Brookfield Wisconsin, Susie's Homemade does a fantastic job describing Wisconsin cuisine! And as long as you are headed in Susie's direction, be sure to check out her delicious homemade items available in her etsy shop. There is a link in her right hand side bar.

A typical weekend in Sheboygan Wisconsin? Let Susan show you how we handle that one! Let's brat trot our way over to My Two Boyz. Be patient while they get their yard work done first, then enjoy her pictorial view!

Next place on our location today is to visit Jennifer. Her blog title is Minnesota versus Texas. I think her list of hobbies should be giving Candid Carrie a hard time. I have just concluded my sixteen year love affair with Brett Favre and she won't let me feel the pain. Her taunting is without mercy. Please check out these two links from Jennifer:
First I've got her entry in Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta, sassy girl has to brag about the Minnesota Vikings during that time slot.

Jennifer's second post does a great job explaining the details of a Green Bay Packer game. Oh, but she had to include a parting shot and a little dig at my ex-boyfriend Brett Favre. That's alright. Just like Coach Mike McCarthy, I have moved in a different direction. We all did. Thanks Jennifer, you did a fabulous job. I could smell the tailgating through my screen saver of Brett Favre. Alright, I'm kidding about that one.

And what key ingredient is missing from this post today? Well, it is Wisconsin's own Bucky Badger. And thanks to Marla at Pak Adventures we've got it covered!
Marla says: I’m not from Wisconsin… but my brother and his family are so we have a our own Bucky Badger and he is treasured. Our original Bucky was lost at LAX when Ben was just five years old and it was a disaster Bucky could not be replaced, so we got two new Buckys to help mend Ben's broken heart. These Bucky's are loved, but not like the original.

08/07 Wisconsin, Half Past Kissing Time

Please listen to this semi-optional mood music. It took me a long, long time to find a clip like this that hasn't been confiscated back to a vault by the Purple One himself. Appreciate my effort. It was easier to find a video of the World's Largest Number Of People Doing The Chicken Dance In Record Time than it was to get a clip of this!

Here is a little Wisconsin statistic. They don't teach you this in the other forty-nine states but it is taught in Wisconsin:

** On your way out of the womb.

** With emphasis on every syllable.

** In bold.

** With italics.

** In a giant font.

** For real.

** And sometimes in blood red for more emphasis.

Wisconsin = Family Reunions

If you are one of the lucky Wisconsinites, you are a member of the forty-four forty-four family and you have wonderful things coming in your future. And that is fabulous for you.

I am not a forty-four forty-four so I live through them instead of with them. You have to come along on this field trip to see exactly what I am talking about. Behave and wish quietly that you could be one-of-them. Maybe take this Wisconsin Tradition back to your own state and Party Like It is 4444.

Yeah, they say two thousand zero zero party over,
Oops out of time
So tonight I'm gonna party Mrs. 4444
Yeah

See, I told you I was going somewhere with that song. I always do. And 44.44% of the time it is worth it.

Ready? Set? Grab your own family and get going! No pushing, no shoving, and keep your arms inside the link at all times.

08/06 Wisconsin, Outnumbered2to1

Mandatory Mood Music:

Yup, those are Wisconsin's very own BoDeans. Very exciting when one of our own makes it to the big time.

And speaking of one of our own AND big time, I'd like to introduce our next stop on the One Week In Wisconsin tour.

You've seen her comments sprinkled around the blogosphere, now you need to visit the site of their origin! You remember the rules:
As always, no pushing, no shoving, keep your arms inside of the link at all times.

Oh and behave, last time we were there someone stole one of her badges. You know who you are, if it was you ... this would be a good time to put it back.

08/05 Wisconsin, Musings Of A Mom

Irritating Mandatory Mood Music:

That video clip is from the Willie Nelson's movie (yes he had a movie), Honeysuckle Rose. I saw this one at a Sheboygan Wisconsin drive-in called The Stardust. We had a crappy little speaker that you needed to have the car window closed in order to have it stay attached. It was a hot August evening and we had crammed a bunch of friends into my 1976 Chevrolet Nova.

Some theatres had the option of tuning the movie into an AM radio station, but not this one. But I loved the soundtrack and actually owned the album. My favorite song from it was Angel Falling Too Close To The Ground and I used to pretend some man was going to swoop me up Officer and a Gentlemen style and rescue me from my job as a bank teller. Dream on, Carrie, dream on.

Alright, Wisconsin currently has gas prices over four dollars a gallon in most places so we aren't going to far today. Yesterday we enjoyed Syd's panorama of Milwaukee and now today we are go to hear about it from Therese's point of view.

Squish together and make room for everyone. It is go time. No pushing, no shoving and keep your arms inside the link at all times!
